Beaten favourite in Mares' Novice Hurdle in 2022 but found only one too good in the Grand Annual over fences here last March; stiff task in sole 2m4f run, a Grade 1 hurdle in April 2022, but the trip experiment hasn't been repeated, and although she's made progress over fences of late, following a Grade 1 win (soft; has won on good to yielding) with a second to crack two-miler El Fabiolo, her stamina for this is a bigger issue than her talent.

Has outstripped her hurdle form since sent chasing and she took the step up to 3m in Listed Exeter race (heavy) in her stride last month, where Kestrel Valley was about 8l back in third and Pink Legend pulled up; no obvious chance at these weights but she is moving smartly in the right direction and the return to 2m4f shouldn't be a problem.

Beat a subdued Allegorie De Vassy at Fairyhouse (2m5f, soft) last April but has not been the equal of her stablemate in three runs this winter, over 2m4f, 2m5f and 2m (all on heavy), nor of Riviere D'etel at Fairyhouse in January; major turnaround is needed.

Allegorie De Vassy
Much of the interest centres around whether the high-flier Dinoblue can muster the stamina for a return to this trip for the first time in two years. Her hurdle run in a Grade 1 that day was inconclusive but with that being her one and only attempt at 2m4f there have to be doubts about whether connections have faith in her over this far. Stablemate ALLEGORIE DE VASSY put up a stout show in this race last year, when it was just unfortunate that the winner put up a stouter one, and she has a good chance of going one better, although Limerick Lace has plenty going for her, too, with Riviere D'etel another to consider. Pink Legend has been placed in this race for the last two years but she comes here on a low this time.

WHAT HAPPENED LAST YEAR - MARES CHASE 2023
IMPERVIOUS made it 4-4 over fences in really likeable fashion, putting her head down and battling after the second briefly edged ahead with a slightly better jump at the last. Allegorie De Vassy couldn’t make it 3-3 over fences but enhanced her reputation in defeat, allaying any fears about her going left-handed. With Pink Legend, second last year, posting another fine effort in this, no disgrace in being unable to live with two really classy mares after the second-last.
